On August 9, 2022, Kimball area residents will vote on two ballot questions for a total of $10.4 million to invest in safety and educational improvements at Kimball Area High School and Kimball Elementary School, which will be added to $2 million in savings from our recent air quality project. The proposed plan includes creating secured entrances at both buildings, renovating the 50-year-old FACS classroom and science labs at the high school, building an addition at the elementary for early childhood programs, replacing and expanding parking lots and building an early childhood playground.

What are residents voting on?

Why are residents voting on this – shouldn’t the district have kept up these buildings over the years?

Kimball’s school buildings have been well-maintained, but after decades of heavy use, our buildings require updates that go beyond the scope of regular maintenance. In order to continue providing students with a secure and productive learning environment, the district has begun the process of adapting our facilities to meet today’s standards for safety and education. Ultimately, Kimball area voters have the final say on the proposed plan to renovate our schools.
